Time waits for no man, and neither does technology.
If you're throwing a baby shower for a relative or friend, creating a suitably festive atmosphere is part of the fun.
In this March 15, 2012 photo provided by Sunny by Design, parfaits on a table at a twins baby shower using Dr. Seuss' Thing One and Thing Two characters is shown in Ramstein, Germany. The red, white and blue color scheme, coupled with Seussian imagery and typography and a Cat in the Hat shaped cake, was a unique and fun way to celebrate the arrival of multiples. With nods to nostalgia, exotic motifs and tailored contemporary looks, the fall season in decor has lots to inspire home decorators.
In a GPS world, physical maps are becoming quaint relics for travelers. But decor with a map theme is hot.
“I was hit by a red light runner on Aug. 14 at Broadway and Horne. I would like to again thank the three good samaritans who stayed with me to be witnesses, and a fourth good samaritan who brought me a big cup of ice water. Thank you all for your kindness and concern. It is greatly appreciated. God bless you all.”

“I think the government of the United States is trying to get rid of the poor people and keep the rich and let them run the government so they can make their own rules.”
I was disgusted and offended by Tom Purcell’s article in Friday’s Tribune (Aug. 3).
“Allowing Loughner to plead guilty for a ‘life’ sentence is a tragedy in and of itself.”
“What grading scale gives you an ‘A’ for getting a 70 percent, a ‘B’ for a 60 percent, a ‘C’ for 50 percent and a ‘D’ for anything 0-50 percent? That’s the standard for the Arizona Department of Education’s new A-F system for rating schools. The only way for a school to get an ‘F’ is to get a ‘D’ three years in a row. What a joke.”
It’s become akin to a dog chasing its own tail, but Arizona high school sports still sees transfer rules in desperate need of a crack down.
When I contacted Leona Kremer about the auspicious occasion she and her husband, Joe, were about to celebrate, all the Gilbert native could do was laugh.
Jordan Bachynski must have been quite the sight.
“Why are people surprised about Steve Nash spitting in the face of his Sun’s fans? He spit in the face of all Arizonians when he went on National Television back in May, 2010. He said ‘I think the law (SB 1070) obviously can target opportunities for racial profiling.’ Which just showed the low esteem he had for the professionalism of Arizona’s law enforcement agencies across the state. ‘Good riddence to bad rubbish’ was a true statement years ago and is just as true today.”
“Adios, Steve Nash. You are a fine basketball player, and we wish you had left it at that. But your being from a foreign nation, yet lecturing the good people of Arizona from your protected, ivory tower, padded life, on how we should tolerate and live with the invasion of illegals across our borders has been too much. We wish you luck in Los Angeles, and hope you will enjoy the more diverse and supportive fan base it has to offer.”
“Our government is a joke and a failure. They can’t control marijuana, so they legalize it. They can’t stop the cartel, so they provide them with guns. They can’t control our borders, so they give them amnesty. But they sure can control cheating, stealing, lying, covering things up and protecting each other, it’s called executive privilege.”
“If the mandate remains intact for Obamacare the Republicans could build on it, like photo ID to prevent health care fraud by people faking an illness.”
“I’m a die-hard Republican and never thought I would feel sorry for Hillary Clinton, but I do. I constantly see her on TV doing her job having to deal with the problems in Syria and other places. This joke of a president is on TV a lot also, always giving a campaign speech in front of cheering crowds that don’t realize that half the stuff he says is BS. Hillary would have made a lot better president.”
Most mornings, Kristi Grimm and her 9-year-old son, Dillon, go running together.
“Jesus loves you and so do I.” After more than half a century, that still is a signature saying for Carl Heath, a familiar face and father figure in the East Valley who influenced the lives of hundreds of students at Mesa High School and those he’s prayed with and helped.
New York • When Cristin Milioti arrived at her final audition for the musical “Once,” her palms were slick with sweat, and she felt like she was going to pass out.
