    Schweikert will now take on two-term incumbent Rep. Harry Mitchell, a popular Democrat and former mayor of Tempe.

    The GOP race pitted Schweikert against Susan Bitter Smith and Jim Ward. Schweikert is a former Maricopa County treasurer who is a businessman.
