In February, elementary physical education teachers challenged 5,000-plus fifth-graders in Mesa Public School District to make healthy food choices and get more exercise for 28 consecutive days as part of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona’s Walk On! Challenge. Every fifth-grade student in the Mesa district had the opportunity to participate in the Walk On! Challenge, which was facilitated by the physical education teachers in each of the elementary schools in Mesa.

Mesquite High School will graduate 446 students this year. Students have been awarded just over $6 million in scholarships.

Gilbert's Highland High School will graduate 715 students in its Class of 2013. The students have earned $10 million in scholarships.

Higley's Williams Field High School in Gilbert will see 340 students receive diplomas this year. Those students have already been awareded $5.6 million in scholarships.

Although we have yet to see an official trailer or production still, I already have mixed feelings about “The Delivery Man.” This upcoming dramedy starring Vince Vaughn follows a middle-aged slouch whose life is turned on its head when he discovers that he’s fathered more than 500 children as a sperm donor – 142 of whom wish to determine who their biological dad is.

Gilbert's mosquito control program will begin fogging and larvicide treatment applications on April 1st. The mosquito prevention efforts will take place at municipal parks, facilities, groundwater recharge and wildlife habitats, as well as Town operated retention basin areas and will continue twice weekly through October 31st. The fogging operations take place during nighttime hours and are conducted by certified technicians using a product that is safe around humans and animals.

Walter Salles' "On the Road" was made with noble intentions, finely-crafted filmmaking and handsome casting, but, alas, it does not burn, burn, burn.
