A man who police say called 911 and lobbed threats against people attending a recent curriculum night at Mesa’s Las Sendas Elementary School has been arrested and is facing threatening and intimidating-related felony charges.
Mesa police are considering charges against a man they say called 911 Thursday and made threats against people attending a curriculum night at Mesa’s Las Sendas Elementary School. According to police, the man said he had a high-powered rifle, that he would to shoot those in attendance and burn his house down.

Residents of Mesa’s Las Sendas area may hear additional noise coming from water pumps as a result of Thursday’s power outage. The pumps that supply water to the area are now operating on electrical generators, which Mesa plans to replace with a more powerful generator. The city is advising residents they may hear more noise near County Pump Station 1 until the work is completed.
