It’s hard to figure out Mitt Romney.
Mitt Romney’s stance on immigration is not on the same page as his religion. It should be vividly noted especially here in Arizona, the church neither discriminates against the undocumented nor denies them access to a Mormon temple or to any of the ordinances prescribed for adherents of the LDS faith.
The attacks by his fellow contenders - Newt Gingrich, Jon Huntsman, Rick Santorum, and Rick Perry - on Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney for his successes at Bain Capital are disingenuous. The rivals are acting like Democrats. Romney's time at Bain epitomizes the type of success Republicans normally worship: financial self-improvement at the expense of the working man.
It is perplexing to know that Mitt Romney is still out there doing enormous damage to his party. He surfaced in a video interview last week and proved again why he is not the president. At one time he took the losing teapublican approach to immigration. Next, he claimed the party has to do a better job of attracting minorities. He didn’t get it when he was running. He doesn’t get it now. With any luck, neither he nor his GOP train wreck will get it ever.
I would like to thank Mr. Lowell Popham for his response to my letter concerning Mr. Romney’s lack of military service and thank him for his service. I do not think military service is necessary to be president but I do think a person who supports both the war and the draft should be willing to put on the uniform. Mitt Romney is trying to rewrite his own history from having no intention of signing up to “I longed to be fighting in Viet Nam.” I have more respect for Bill Clinton because he opposed the war and was consistent in his belief. President Obama is of a different generation with an all volunteer military and has nothing to do with my views on Romney’s character.
In a most peculiar attack launched by Mitt Romney against President Obama, Romney accused Obama of being at Harvard too long. Apparently, Mitt meant to show that Barack Obama is out of touch with mainstream Americans. But wait! Isn’t Mitt also a Harvard alum?
A few things to consider for those who plan to vote for Mitt Romney concerning his service to his country:
Bad businessman or is he lying?
Mitt Romney would like the middle class to vote for him but, looking at his record, this would be a disaster for the middle class and all of America.
This week marks the second anniversary for Obamacare (PPACA)! Studies just published say it will cost more than DOUBLE of what originally thought. 67 percent of Americans don’t like the Health Care Bill. The midterm 2010 election results, with the democrats losing 63 seats in a House election, were based on a citizen uprising, a true revolt against Obamacare and the huge national debt. Voters know that if Obama is reelected, Obamacare is here to stay! I grew up in Canada where my Father was a heart surgeon.
New York City charter schools this year had 51,473 applicants for 12,917 new seats. That leaves almost 40,000 heartbroken families who wanted their children to have a shot at the American dream that only quality education can provide.
EDITOR'S NOTE _ An occasional look at political claims that take shortcuts with the facts or don't tell the full story
Mitt Romney’s foreign policy is about what you should expect from someone who evaded the Vietnam military draft by hiding out as a minister of religion — in France, no less. Like most Chickenhawks, as soon as the shooting stopped, Mitt suddenly became chest-beatingly aggressive, hoping that people might forget that he showed the white feather when it came time to stand up for his country.
President Barack Obama countered Mitt Romney's Big Bird and binders on Monday night with horses, bayonets and Battleship. Who won? The Internet, of course.
For Chris Udall, that fact that GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney is a fellow Mormon was “just the icing on the cake” when he decided to donate $250 to his campaign.
HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. — Fresh off an intensely combative debate, President Barack Obama, Republican Mitt Romney and their running mates are taking their tuned-up fight to the precious few battleground states where the election is up for grabs with just 20 days to go.
WASHINGTON — Middle East violence is shaking up a presidential race that otherwise looks stubbornly stable, and tight. President Barack Obama holds a tiny edge, Republican Mitt Romney is seeking a breakthrough message, and three debates are ahead in the campaign's final seven weeks.
Whining from the Left regarding Mitt Romney’s silence to the sounds of renewed birther cries are hilarious and hypocritical. Romney is not the least bit responsible for the views of Donald Trump and would be foolish to jump into the fray of this non-issue.
American industry is tarred and feathered for legally “exporting American jobs” to foreign workers while the U.S. Government is praised for supporting the illegal importation of thirty million foreign workers who displace American workers within the USA. Where is the logic in this? When the cost to the American tax-payers is added to provide emergency health care and education for the foreign worker’s families, the comparison becomes even more bizarre.
“During the debate Mitt Romney stole Obama’s platform. Now Romney’s heart bleeds for the middle class and calls for shared sacrifice and he’s treated like the Messiah. For years now Pres. Obama has called for shared sacrifice, and he’s accused of class- warfare.”
It is interesting that you encourage people to consider not voting for Romney when he did not serve in the military, but went on a two half year LDS mission. I think you underestimate the desire for LDS young men to serve a mission. My son, graduated top of his class, worked hard in sports so he could attend the U.S. Air Force Academy. He received a $415,000 dollar scholarship to the AFA. He worked hard, he was on the dean’s list, was also in the 22 squad (Raptors) which finished first in the school and was able to stand behind President Obama at the graduation. He gave all this up to serve a mission in Chile. That is how important Mr. Romney also felt. He did this with the hope that there will be no major budget cuts to the AFA so that he may return there.
I did not vote for Barack Obama, but he is my president.
Mitt Romney has released his income tax reports, so is it not about time the media insisted Barack Obama release his school records?
Supporters of Mitt Romney enthusiastically tout his private sector success as qualifying him to lead our nation. There is no question that Romney was incredibly successful as a venture capitalist, although admittedly he started a little farther down the road than most people could.
We just celebrated 225 years of the ratification of the US Constitution. This written document contains many wise provisions such as: 1. The Bill of Rights’ guarantee of freedom of speech, press and religion. 2. Equality of all men and women before the law. 3. The principle of popular sovereignty, where the PEOPLE are the source of government, not the other way around. 4. The federal system, with a division of powers between the nation as a whole and the states. 5. The Separation of Powers into three separate branches of government.
