    Moira Carney, treasurer of Compassion for All, explains Monday how her all-volunteer group hopes to gather more than 155,000 valid signatures by July 1 to put a measure on the November ballot, effectively repealing the state's new immigration law. Carney conceded getting that many petitions in that short a time is unprecedented but said she believes voters will sign once they understand the law.

    Margaret Sarama signed a petition in August 2000 to recall Apache Junction Justice of the Peace Corwin Brundrett. But there was a problem. Sarama was dead the day the petition was signed. The 78-year-old seamstress and World War II veteran died in November 1999.

    Honey is nearly 2 years old, but she is smaller than most kittens her age at approximately 6 pounds. This sweetie loves to snuggle and has been fixed, tested and has all of her shots. Honey would be happiest as an only kitty, but has lived with other cats and dogs.
