Starting Wednesday, the Arizona Science Center hosts a seven-day snow extravaganza with 30 tons of real snow. Daily themes include a pajama day, gingerbread and candy day, LEGO building day, snowman build and fruitcake launching day, ugly sweater day, train day and a New Year’s Celebration with a “Dancing in the Depot” party.
It happens every year around this time — the ritual, hot chocolate-enhanced, pajama-clad viewing of the heartwarming 1946 holiday movie “It’s A Wonderful Life,” starring Jimmy Stewart as downtrodden everyman George Bailey.
With the holidays upon us, it’s that time of year when we feel the urge to do something good for someone else. And what could warm your heart more than doing something to brighten the life of a child in need? The Maricopa County Head Start Zero-Five Program is hoping local groups, businesses or organizations will consider organizing a pajama/book drive for the little ones it serves.
