WASHINGTON — First lady Michelle Obama will carry the torch of U.S. lobbying for Chicago's bid to host the 2016 Summer Olympic Games, traveling to Denmark next month to make the case to Olympic officials.
WASHINGTON - Michelle Obama said Wednesday she was "touched" that first lady Laura Bush came to her defense after she was harshly criticized by Republicans for her February comment that for the first time in her adult life she was proud of the United States.

Wouldn’t it be something if Michelle Obama, not the Rev. Jeremiah Wright or John McCain, was the reason Barack Obama loses the presidency? Instead of “change,” the First Lady-in-waiting is sticking with old hurts held closely by certain black communities, long caught in the quagmire of resentment.
