A true gem: A 1939 Lincoln Zephyr that was owned by Pete Golightly, a former longtime serice manager for Thorobred Chevrolet in Chandler, will be among the 100-plus cars on display at the Thorobred Thunder XIII All-Chevy Car Show at Thorobred Chevrolet in Chandler on Saturday. Gilbert’s Canyon Valley School history teacher Larry Dexter was selected as the Horace Mann-Abraham Lincoln Fellowship award winner from Arizona for 2011. During the summer fellowship in Springfield, Ill., Dexter will join 49 other teachers as they study the life and legacy of America’s 16th president.
