Tempe Mayor Hugh Hallman has declared Friday “Leonardo da Vinci Society for the Study of Thinking Day.” The honor is being created as the University of Advancing Technology in Tempe prepared to induct Edgar Mitchell into the school’s Leonardo da Vinci Society for Thinking. Mitchell was the sixth astronaut to walk on the moon. He was nominated in 2005 for the Noble Peace prize and is a scientist, naval officer, test pilot, author and former astronaut. The society was created in 2005.
