The Gilbert Education Foundation presented 33 grants to educators across the Gilbert Unified School District on Tuesday to supplement material or classroom projects.
School board members in Chandler Unified School District retained their seats while newcomers are joining incumbents in Tempe Union and Mesa Unified, according to unofficial election results late Tuesday.

Few would argue that Mesa is a conservative city. Republicans dominate the political landscape — on the City Council, in the Legislature, in Congress and on the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. The chairman of the Arizona Republican Party is, in fact, a Mesa resident.
