Apache Junction football coach Justin MacDonald resigned last week, citing a need to spend more time with family.
Apache Junction interim coach Jeff Rathjen plans to continue using the pass-heavy offense that was installed by his predecessor Justin MacDonald. The Prospectors went 2-8 last year in their only season under MacDonald after years of operating out of a run-heavy triple-option offense.
