“Seems like there’s been a reduction in the number of Vents lately. Is it because of a lack of material or just a lack of material that President Obama and the Democrats would approve of?”
It was 50 years ago Barry Goldwater declared “extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice.” The political world gasped and he suffered a crushing defeat in the 1964 presidential election. Today, pundits and the “legacy media” commonly emphasize the importance of keeping those extremists marginalized.
“How do the same people who for years have said things like, ‘What part of illegal don’t you understand?’ now stand behind a guy like Cliven Bundy, who is illegally using public property (federal land) for his own profit? Someone please explain how this isn’t hypocrisy of the greatest kind.”
Why does the Arts and Entertainment Television Network feel that the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights don’t pertain to their employees? As far as I know, President Barack Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi have not yet abolished Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Religion, although I may be wrong.
Today, Harry Reid invoked the so called “Nuclear Option” — a critical change in the rules of the Senate that provided a voice for the minority party. When Obama had control of the House and the Senate we saw him ram through Obamacare. Obama has three more years to exercise his agenda but is fearful that he may actually lose control of the senate in 2014 due to the public backlash against Obamacare. His burning agenda is to stack the DC court with left wing judges and place more liberals in key positions within the government. He has stated that he feels these nominees are being held up by the GOP via filibuster. So, getting rid of this provision allows Obama to act with impunity in regards to nominees thus ensuring that he can place liberals in any position he wishes.
“I was glad to see Dems in the Senate use the nuclear option. Republicans had used obstruction tactics to the point it had evolved into torment of American people.”
NEW YORK — Was a losing team bullied? Is your angry spouse a bully? How about that co-worker who's always criticizing you? Or the politicians who forced a government shutdown?
FILE - In this Wed., Oct. 16, 2013 file photo, Tea party conservatives Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, right, walk to a meeting as the Senate prepares to vote on a measure to avert a threatened Treasury default and reopen the government after a partial, 16-day shutdown, at the Capitol in Washington. In May, U.S. Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., called Sen. Cruz, a “schoolyard bully." Cruz responded: “The Senate is not a schoolyard setting.” He added: “Speaking the truth ... is not bullying.” (AP Photo/J. Scott Applewhite, File)
The government reopened its doors Thursday after a battle-weary Congress approved a bipartisan measure to end a 16-day partial shutdown and avert the possibility of an economy-jarring default on U.S. obligations.
One of the favorite Republican arguments for the last four years has been this one: While the Republicans have repeatedly passed a budget in the House, the Democrats, well, chose not to.
You’ll want to find and sign one of those petitions against Arizona’s implementation of Obamacare. You’ll be glad you did. A fragile economic recovery here in the Valley is now in jeopardy with the recent passage of the law.

Welcome to the "Max and Dave Show," a campaign-style swing around the country featuring two of the most powerful members of Congress rallying support for their effort to overhaul the nation's tax laws — and, just maybe, change the way Washington works.
An agreement to vastly increase fencing, patrols and high-tech monitoring along the U.S.-Mexico border was formally unveiled in the Senate Friday, providing powerful momentum to a far-reaching immigration bill backed by the White House.
The prophet Isaiah wrote, “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” (Isaiah 5:20, KJV)
Investigators say due to some creative Ireland-based tax gimmicks, Apple has managed to keep $75 billion away from the IRS’s reach just in the years 2009-2012.
Once again, an Arizona senator has failed to follow the will of the nation but rather serves his pockets and a lobbying group. THE MAJORITY of Americans want some type of gun control. No one is asking to repeal guns... just control the psychotic individuals that can get a hold of weapons.
It is beyond belief that we have a handful of senators that want to filibuster to prevent even a vote on sensible gun control. When 90 percent of America is saying universal background checks are needed now. When over 75 percent of gun owners and NRA members are saying the same thing.
Sadly, again, we see a crazed attacker going on a rampage against innocent victims. This time it was in a community college in Houston and the attacker had a knife instead of a gun. Should we anticipate that Harry Reid, Diane Feinstein, and President Obama will now be calling for background checks when trying to purchase cutlery? Should knives of a certain length be outlawed? Will we see politicians surrounded by family members of the injured speaking out against Swiss Army?
The national dialogue is misleading. To have a “meaningful discussion” we must identify the issue correctly.
At least Romney had binders. Binders full of qualified women to fill cabinet positions, that is. Democrats mercilessly pounded Romney for the binders comment he made during the 2012 presidential campaign, but I’ll bet the Obama campaign now wishes Romney had passed the binders on to Obama since it seems he’s having a hard time picking women to fill his second term cabinet positions.
WASHINGTON — Side by side, leading Democratic and Republican senators pledged Monday to propel far-reaching immigration legislation through the Senate by summer providing a possible path to citizenship for an estimated 11 million people now in the U.S. illegally.
