There’s no place where people and their pooches party quite like they do at BARKtoberfest. The yearly party for dogs and their owners is put on by the no-kill Friends for Life Animal Rescue in Gilbert and features live entertainment, a parade, dog washing, pet arts and crafts, shopping booths, a lure course and contests for best pet-owner lookalikes, tricks and costumes. Admission is free but some activities require a small donation, and proceeds aid in saving the lives of homeless dogs and cats.
Takes place each November at sites throughout town.
