With rakes and shovels in hand, 40 volunteers with DMB Associates turned a once vacant lot in Mesa into a community garden last week.
BASIS Mesa, the acclaimed charter school's newest campus, is taking shape as construction crews move dirt and the school's new leader takes her first steps to recruit students and hire teachers.
Construction is under way on the BASIS Mesa campus that is being built at Eastmark in east Mesa. The public charter school will open in the fall for students in grades five through 10.
