Rebecca Warren: When a close relative or friend starts to display signs of dementia or related neurological ailments, it is a family tragedy requiring speedy action and medical care. But in many cases, the disease comes on gradually, and it becomes evident with inconsistencies in behavior and sometimes, problems with money.
Authorities are seeking help in finding a woman who went missing from her home Monday.

The Alzheimer’s Association Desert Southwest Chapter is launching a Gilbert support group for caregivers of people with dementia. The group will meet at the First United Methodist Church, 331 S. Cooper Road, from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. on the first and third Friday of each month.
