    The idea of bringing municipal government to the mall may sound dull, but Mesa is planning a lively introduction to the city with a free concert, fire trucks, the police helicopter, raffles and more.

    Mesa will share information about city services at a City Hall at the Mall event on Oct. 30 at Superstition Springs Center. The event will include the police helicopter, a SWAT armored vehicle, a fire engine, the DUI van and ambulances for residents to view. Also, the city will have displays and information from nearly 20 city departments including transportation, library, arts and culture, and parks and recreation. Visitors can enter a drawing for a passes to city museums, golf courses and gift cards from mall stores. The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. inside the mall’s center court area and the vehicles will be displayed in the parking lot near The Cheesecake Factory. The mall is at 6555 E. Southern Ave.
