Get warmed up for the season at “America’s Sweetest Race,” benefitting Ronald McDonald House Charities. The race is the culmination of a three-day Hot Chocolate Expo at the Pavilions at Talking Stick, where participants can pick up their race packet, bib, and goodie bag while enjoying music, hot chocolate samples, and a bounce house as a part of the Kids Zone. After the race, runners will be treated to a finisher’s mug full of hot chocolate and chocolate fondue with dippables.

Enjoy a driving tour of the East Valley aboard a double-decker London Bus while sipping hot chocolate and listening to Christmas music. The tour starts at Tempe Marketplace and proceeds to three or four large neighborhood light displays around the East Valley. The bus stops for 20 minutes at each location, allowing everyone to get out, stretch their legs and refill their hot chocolate. There will be one bathroom stop made during the 2.5 hour tour. Guests are welcome to bring outside food and beverages.

Elementary students from Keystone Montessori School in Ahwatukee spent hours this past holiday season visiting local area assisted living centers. Students, ages 9-12, sang Christmas carols, decorated resident homes and played musical instruments at both Desert Garden Assisted Living in Ahwatukee and Sunrise Senior Living in Chandler.
