It seemed the California recall election couldn't possibly get any zanier, but Thursday it did. The Los Angeles Times reported Arnold Schwarzenegger had groped women, the candidate's aides screamed about dirty politics and then the candidate himself said that where there is smoke there is fire and apologized for doing bad things years ago.

They’re using the term "crazy" to describe what’s going on in California, and maybe it is. But what’s going on in California is too important to dismiss as mere looniness.
