Apache Junction interim coach Jeff Rathjen plans to continue using the pass-heavy offense that was installed by his predecessor Justin MacDonald. The Prospectors went 2-8 last year in their only season under MacDonald after years of operating out of a run-heavy triple-option offense.

Snow covers the mountains north of Apache Junction after a winter storm moved through the Valley on Jan. 21, 2007. Snow flurries are possible Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, in Apache Junction and east Mesa, although the snow would not be expected to stick once it hits the ground.
