This beauty’s name is Lafawnda. She’s a Snowshoe cat, about 12 years old. She was returned several months ago due to no fault of her own. This is actually the second time she was returned. The first time she was in her home for nine years, but her owner became ill and could no longer care for her. The second time she was returned because her family was moving and couldn’t take her with them.
Suri is a beautiful domestic medium-haired white and gray tabby cat, about 2 years old. She has been waiting a while for a home because she just doesn’t show well at the adoption center. The shelter environment causes her to become overly stressed and then she wants nothing to do with meeting a potential family. Suri originally was rescued off the streets as a stray. Suri would need to be the only cat in her new home as she becomes defensive around other cats. She’d like to be the “queen” of the house and be loved on all day by her people. She ADORES the attention she receives from her people. Once acclimated to her new home she’ll follow her humans around, sit next to them on the couch … she’s a great cat for a quiet home. It isn’t known how she’d do with dogs and kids.
Each year in Maricopa County, tens of thousands of animals are euthanized. The shelters fill up, the programs that aid animals with medical and behavioral problems can only take so many cases, and, unfortunately, the whole system can only care for so many.
Fondue is quite the handsome boy. He is about a year old, great with other cats but probably would not enjoy the company of dogs. Fondue has a lot of kitten left in him, but don’t be surprised if he is timid at first until he gets comfortable. His shyness upon first meeting is probably why he’s been waiting so long for a home. Once he’s comfortable expect that he’ll be ordering up some belly rubs and provide you with some “silly kitty” entertainment. He loves having his head scratched, been known to cuddle with his kitty friends, and bird watching from the window.

This is Brennan (however the shelter knows him as Bogart) who was adopted about a year ago, and was recently returned through no fault of his own. He is about 2 years old, and is one cute Chiweenie.

LOS ANGELES — If a scared dog bolts from home, it's likely to run as fast and far as it can. But if a house cat panics, it's more likely to slink away and stop at the first good hiding place it finds.
