    A 25-year-old hotel clerk was shot and killed early Monday during what police said was a robbery at a Fairfield Inn. Matt Williams, 25, who was on duty at the hotel, 13440 N. Scottsdale Road, Phoenix, was pronounced dead at the scene, said Sgt. Andy Hill, spokesman for Phoenix police.
