    OMAHA, Neb. - Left fielder Colin Curtis was slumping worse than any of Arizona State’s hitters going into Tuesday’s 8-7 win over Nebraska. The sophomore went 1-for-8 with a double and an intentional walk in ASU’s first two College World Series games.

    Beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday in Superior, 32 children ages 8 and older will line up at 100 Mary Drive in hopes of securing a slot to the granddaddy of all soapbox derby events — the All-American Soap Box Derby International Championship that will take place July 31 in Akron, Ohio. (There’s another qualifying race in Tucson.)

    OMAHA, Neb. - So this is why Jeff Larish returned to Arizona State for his senior season. Larish etched his name in college baseball lore by hitting three home runs and J.J. Sferra redeemed himself after a damaging base-running mistake in the ninth inning by driving in the game-winning run in the 11th as ASU defeated Nebraska, 8-7, in a memorable College World Series game Tuesday afternoon at Rosenblatt Stadium.
