ASU men’s and women’s swimming coach Michael Chasson said Monday he resigning to pursue other opportunities.
“I want to devote full time to my club team," Chasson said. "I’ve enjoyed my time at ASU, and I’ve had the opportunity to work with some great student-athletes.”
Fourth-year assistant coach Simon Percy will serve as the interim head coach until a permanent replacement is found.
Chasson arrived at ASU in 1998 as the first coach to officially head both the men’s and women’s swimming programs. In his 11 years at ASU, the men had nine top-20 national finishes and the women had six. He coached 52 All-Americans, seven individual Pac-10 champions and one national champion (Attila Czene, 200 IM, 2000).
