The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a night race at Phoenix International Raceway Nov.11.
"Going back this year and racing under the lights for the first time in the
NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series is going to be magical," said 2004 Chevy Silverado 150 winner David Starr.
"I watched the first Cup race there at night on television and it was pretty exciting. There is just something about racing at night that makes it really special."
The series, which had its inaugural race at PIR in 1995, will run under the track's new lighting system on a Friday night.
The Chevy Silverado 150 will take the green flag around 6p.m., capping a full day of on-track activity for the annual NASCAR fall race weekend at PIR.
Earlier in the day, the track will be busy with the final NASCAR Busch
Series practice, NASCAR Nextel Cup Series practice and Cup Series
The Busch race will be run during the day on Nov.12 and the Cup race, part of the Nextel Chase for the Championship, will also be run in daylight on Nov.13.
