• Coyotes general manager Don Maloney announced that Ray Edwards has been named assistant coach for the team’s American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage, joining coach Greg Ireland behind the bench. Edwards has been a coach in the Central Hockey League (CHL) and ECHL for the past seven years, most recently with the CHL’s New Mexico Scorpions, where he guided the team to the conference finals this past season. As a player, Edwards recorded 174 points (83 goals, 91 assists) and 1,253 penalty minutes in 309 games over seven seasons in the ECHL.
• The Arizona Sting placed forward Craig Conn on the physically unable to perform list for the 2008 National Lacrosse League season. The four-year veteran suffered a knee injury while playing for New Westminster of the Canadian Western Lacrosse Association. Conn finished the 2007 season as the Sting’s second-leading scorer with 76 points on 21 goals and 55 assists.
