SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Alan Wiggins Jr. scored a season-high 23 points and Antonio Kellogg added 18, helping San Francisco to an 82-73 win over Northern Arizona on Monday night.
Manny Quezada added 14 points and five assists for the Dons (3-3), who ended a three-game losing streak.
Tyrone Bazy scored 23 points and Ruben Boykin Jr. added 14 points and 11 rebounds to pace Northern Arizona. The Lumberjacks (3-3), defending Big Sky champions, had previously lost to Kansas and Arizona.
San Francisco led by 13 early in the second half but couldn't shake Northern Arizona, which closed within 78-73 on Stephen Sir's 3-pointer with 53 seconds remaining before Wiggins and Armondo Surratt each hit a pair of free throws to close out the win for the Dons.
The two teams meet again on Dec. 5 in Arizona.
San Francisco shot 71.4 percent in the first half but needed a late surge to pull away from the Lumberjacks. Leading just 38-36, the Dons went on a 10-2 run over the final 2:30 of the first half to take control and break open what had been a close game.
Wiggins had 17 points in the first half, but it was Kellogg who provided San Francisco with the biggest spark. He had 16 points and four assists in the opening 20 minutes and had a key steal off Sir near midcourt that led to an easy layup to cap the Dons' late run.
Sir, who entered the game tied for third in career 3-point percentage, finished with 13 points but was just 3 of 12 from 3-point range.
