While the Cardinals may add receiver Az-Zahir Hakim as a free agent, linebacker Keith Adams, who played with Philadelphia last year, won’t be coming to Arizona.
Adams’ agent, Jordan Woy, said in an e-mail Wednesday that while Adams will decide on a team as early as today, he will not be signing with the Cardinals. Adams visited the Cardinals’ complex a few weeks ago.
It is likely the Cardinals will take at least one linebacker in the upcoming NFL draft.
There was no update on the negotiations for Hakim. Agent Charles Price, who said Tuesday night he was optimistic a deal would get done, did not return a phone call.
Linebacker Gerald Hayes said Wednesday he is holding off on signing his one-year tender offer for now. Hayes, a restricted free agent, has until April 21 to get an offer sheet from another team. Two other key restricted free agents are already back under contract with Arizona — guard Reggie Wells, who signed an offer sheet with Buffalo that was matched, and defensive tackle Kenny King, who inked the tender he received from the Cards.
