FLAGSTAFF - Steve Sir made a career-high eight 3-pointers and scored 26 points to lead Northern Arizona to a 104-77 victory over Mississippi Valley State on Saturday.
Ruben Boykin Jr. had his second double-double in a row with 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Lumberjacks (3-2). Ryan McCurdy made 10-of-16 free throws for 18 points for NAU. Six Lumberjacks hit double digits in scoring.
Northern Arizona led by 18 at the half after holding the Delta Devils (1-4) scoreless for a three-minute stretch, then boosted it to a 21-point advantage with Josh Wilson's 3-pointer 15 seconds into the second half.
Larry Cox led Mississippi Valley State with 14 points. Stanford Speech added 12 points, including two 3-pointers. Kadrian Bryant had 11 points on 5-for-7 shooting for the visitors.
