Cardinals kicker Neil Rackers said he didn’t have any big plans for the ball he booted to score his NFL-record 40th field goal in Indianapolis earlier this week. So the NFL Hall of Fame decided for him.
The league’s museum took both the ball and the shoes Rackers was wearing at the time and put them on display, and both items will become part of the Hall’s permanent collection.
It’s the second straight year a pair of Rackers’ shoes have been shipped to Canton, Ohio. Last year, the Hall received the shoes Rackers was wearing when he kicked an NFLrecord three 50-yard field goals in one game.
O-LINE COACH SEARCH
The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported that the Cardinals have received permission to speak to Vikings offensive coordinator Steve Loney about their vacant offensive line coach job. Loney, who has been with the Vikings since 2002 and was their offensive line coach until this past season, was the Cardinals’ assistant offensive line coach in 1993.
