Here's a list of activities and events at churches and spiritual centers around the Valley.

CAREFREE

CHANDLER

Children’s musical: The Summer Music Activity for Kids will have a meeting for parents 3 p.m. July 16 and auditions for children ages 7-12. DivorceCare for Kids: Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 739 W. Erie St., is offering three classes, GriefShare, DivorceCare and DivorceCare for Kids. They run through July 31. (480) 963-4127.

Midweek Manna: A weekly Christian Living class, “Midweek Manna,” meets 11 a.m. Thursdays in the social hall of Chandler United Methodist Church, 251 W. Chandler Blvd., followed by lunch from Cupid’s Restaurant for $5. The Suddenly Singles group meetings are 10:30 a.m. the second and fourth Sundays. F-Troop small group Bible study and fellowship meets 5 p.m. Sundays.

MESA

Way of the Master training: A free Way of the Master Evangelism Training class will be offered 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. July 15 a Latitude Life Center, 5610 E. Main St. After the class and dinner, provided free, participants have the option to go onto the streets for direct hands-on experience in evangelism. After-death communicating: Sunni Welles, author of “Glimpses of Heaven from The Angels Whole Live There,” and Christine Duminiah, a grief recovery specialist and author of “God’s Gift of Love: After Death Communications,” will lead an “After Death Communication Seminar” 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 22 at Dobson Ranch Inn, 1644 S. Course in Miracles: A Course in Miracles is offered 7 p.m. Wednesdays at Interfaith Unity Church, 1731 W. Baseline Road. Participants follow a spiritual path that shares themes with Christianity, Eastern mysticism and modern psychology, with a central teaching of forgiveness. PARADISE VALLEY

PHOENIX

Shalom center: “Caring for Loved Ones,” a Jewish support and resource group for families and caregivers, is led by Gary Goodman and Rabbi Marty Scharf 7 to 8:30 a.m. on the second and fourth Mondays in the youth lounge at Temple Chai, 4645 E. Marilyn Road. Free. “Living Through Loss,” a Jewish bereavement support group, led by Douglas Jardine, meets 7 to 8:30 a.m. the third Monday at Temple Chai. The next is July 17. Free. Tot Shabbat program: Gesuntots, a Shabbat program for children under 5, is offered 9:30 a.m. the first Saturday of each month at Temple Kol Ami, a Reform Jewish congregation, 15030 N. 64th St. The 45-minute sessions are led by Rabbis Jordan Goldson and Bonnie Sharfman and cantorial soloist Raina Sinclair. Satsang devotionals: Hindu devotional meetings (Satsang) with prayer, chanting meditation and a video lecture by Jagadguru Shree Maharaj or H.D. Classes at St. Mark: Classes are being offered Sundays at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 3030 E. Thunderbird Road. An adult and high school class both meet at 9:30 a.m. Sundays. Women of the Word study meets 5 p.m. Sundays. The 20- to 29-year-old age group meets 5 p.m. the second and fourth Sunday. Men of the Word, a Bible study, meets 8 a.m. Saturdays. An adult Bible class led by the Rev. Mike Sheldon, “A Walk Through the Bible,” meets 7 p.m. Mondays. He leads an adult class, “A Walk Through Luke,” 7 p.m. Mondays. The Couples Bible Class meets 6:30 p.m. Mondays. Welcome Home classes at 9:30 a.m. Sundays. Torah for Tots: Families are invited to take part in Torah for Tots, a service for Jewish children ages 2 to 6, 11 a.m. the first Saturday of each month at Temple Chai, 4645 E. Marilyn Road. Songs, stories, dance, eating challah and celebration of Shabbat are included. Free. (602) 923-3619.

Healing circle: Mark Earlix, author of “Creator,” offers a healing circle 7 p.m. Fridays at Creative Living Fellowship, 1241 E. QUEEN CREEK

Master Clubs: Master Clubs for boys and girls ages 4 through third grade meet 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays at Gospel Light Baptist Church, 26319 S. Power Road. Topics include Bible knowledge, family, patriotism and character development, with awards and vests earned for achievement. (480) 988-5412.

SCOTTSDALE

Summer book study: The Max Lucado book “The Gift for All the People — Thoughts on God’s Great Grace” will be used for a summer book study on Tuesdays through Aug. 8 at North Scottsdale United Methodist Church, 11735 N. Celebrate recovery: Scottsdale Bible Church, 7601 E. Shea Blvd., is offering Celebrate Recovery, a Christ-centered program to help people break free of hurts and hang-ups. TEMPE

Blood drive set: The public is invited to participate in a church-sponsored blood drive with United Blood Services 8:15 to 12:15 p.m. Aug. 6 at University Presbyterian Church, 139 E. Alameda Drive. It is an emergency drive to help replenish severely low blood reserves. Donors must be in good health and have not given blood in at least eight weeks. To sign up for a time, call (480) 894-1557.

New Shabbat: A new Family Shabbat service has begun 6:30 p.m. Friday at Temple Emanuel of Tempe, 5801 S. Rural Road. It will feature the Temple Emanuel Shabba-Tones Band. Shabbat services: Temple Emanuel, a Reform Jewish congregation at 5801 S. Rural Road, holds its Shabbat services at 6:30 p.m. Fridays and 9:30 a.m. Saturdays. Toddler Shabbat is 9:30 a.m. Friday. Bahais meet: The Tempe Bahai Community holds interfaith devotions at 9 a.m. Sundays at the Tempe Bahai Information Center, 903 E. Spence Ave. Potluck dinners begin at 6 p.m. Fridays followed by a discussion of spiritual and social issues from a Bahai perspective at 7:30 p.m. Children’s virtue classes for ages 4 to 8 are 4 p.m. Fridays. Divorce support: A new group of DivorceCare, a recovery seminar and support group, will meet 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays at Grace Community Church, 1200 E.
