In preparation for the High Holidays, the Chabad of Scottsdale is offering a six-part course in reading Hebrew.

Rabbi Yossi Bryski will lead the class geared to helping Jews better understand Hebrew at Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, as well as for studying Torah in its original language, traveling to Israel and other uses.

The class, which is targeted to beginners and those wanting to brush up on Hebrew reading skills, begins at 8 p.m. Aug. 20 at the Jewish Learning Center, 10213 N. Scottsdale Road and runs six consecutive Wednesdays. Cost is $18, which covers materials and textbooks. It will not cover comprehension or conversation.
