The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has ordered a Sedona based jeep tour operator by consent decree to pay $35,000 to settle an age discrimination lawsuit.

In the federal lawsuit, the EEOC charged that Red Rock Western Jeep Tours fired 75-year-old Gloria Rose because of her age.

According to the EEOC, Rose was asked about her age and later informed she was not "the right person" for a reservationist job.

Rose informed Red Rock she believed she was discriminated against based on her age.

The EEOC mandated Red Rock to adopt an anti-discrimination policy and provide anti-discrimination training for all employees involved in the hiring process.

No one was available to comment at Red Rock. The owner has not returned a call seeking comment.
