The regular season kicked off, September 1, 2012, all over the Valley and Tucson for teams in the Phoenix American Youth Football League. Several teams from the Valley opened the season with games against teams from Tucson. The Chandler Jr. Pee Wee (10-11-year old) Huskies hosted the Tucson Rams in their opener on Saturday at Tumbleweed Park. The Huskies forced five turnovers on defense and came away with a dominant 30-0 win over the Rams. Two highlights were a 30-yard touchdown run by quarterback TJ Siffermann on the opening drive and a 35-yard interception return for a touchdown by Shane Anderson that capped the scoring.
