The Chandler Fire Department is offering parents and caregivers free car seat inspections and training to ensure child safety seats in vehicles are the right size and have been properly installed. The clinics are offered from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. most Saturdays at various sites around the city.

Certified car seat technicians will conduct the inspections and install car seats. Proper car seat installation is important because car crashes are the leading cause of death for children ages 2 to 14, in part because child car seats aren’t used or aren’t properly installed.

The inspections rotate among various sites that include the Chandler Fire Training Facility, Chandler Regional Medical Center and the Chandler Fire Headquarters. For information or an appointment, visit www.chandleraz.gov/fire or call (480) 782-2046.
