“Two of the new Gilbert School Board members ran on the platform that they were going to trim administrative costs and waste. The first thing they did was try to fire the superintendent. The next thing they did was to create three new paid administrative positions. Is there any hope for the next few years?”

“Everyday as I read the ‘Vent’ articles, all I see is negative, mean, and nasty pieces that are just meant to criticize and/or hurt people as if the people contributing the articles have never said or done anything wrong in their life! Look in the mirror once in a while and let me truly know if you are that perfect! Whether it be a certain individual, politics, religion, the way a business is run or somebodys job! Shut up! It’s OK to ‘Vent’ something positive about these same subjects! Again, look in the mirror! You are not perfect no matter what you may think! I am always just truly happy and grateful that I wake up every morning and I’m still breathing, have a great family, and a job!”

“I’m sorry I haven’t written to the Vent for so long. I’m ticked off about so many things, I just don’t know where to start.”

“There is the Left and there is the Right — and there is the Self Centered.”

“Dear congressmen and women: We sent you to Washington to work. That’s Washington not Arizona. If you are too lazy to do this resign!”

“I thought Marco Rubio would be a major contender for the 2016 election, but he only has the appearance of another Mitt Romney. His hypocrisy is only exceeded by his thirst. The true measure of this man will be his accomplishments for the strife of the people he expresses so much concern about.”

“I’m a Christian, but I don’t participate in Lent, so I’ll continue eating meat as often as I want, thank you very much!”

“Interesting fact, all of the top ten cities in the U.S with the highest homicide rates have a population that is primarily Minorities. So is it REALLY the guns that are the problem?”

“Who are these people that assault weapon owners fear so much? Are they the billionaire employers who threaten their employees jobs for the way they vote? Are they the legislators who attack the right to vote of the most vulnerable? How about those who would pass laws to discourage a persons right to negotiate fair pay and benefits? Before exercising rights under the second amendment one should at least define what tyranny is.”

Vent #1: maybe the new board members where convinced the new admin positions where needed.

Vent #2: Nothing is perfect and nothing will be. But an column titled "Vent" would usually solicit a negative response.

Vent #3: Why start now!!!! LOL

Vent #4: Aren't most of us self-centered but claim to be either left or right.

Vent #5: I don't know about you but my congress person is doing the job I voted for them to do. Cut big government and deficit spending.

Vent #6: So you prefer a placating socialist over a compassionate capitalist that gets thirsty.

Vent #7: Yes make good use of those meat eating teeth you have. LOL

Vent #8: The results of generational welfare and those that make money off of the victimization culture.

Vent #8: Ah, a liberal/progressive on the attack. Against the second amendment, using class warfare, calling conservatives racists, against the "right to work" legislation. Tyranny is the ever growing Big Government that is taking away our responsibilities and liberties.

chatmandu002 question: “…… Aren't most of us self-centered but claim to be either left or right?”

Many Americans consider themselves Liberal “Left” wing. . and there those who say they are Conservative “Right” wing. Only a liberal would want to look for “common ground” between the law and the lawless, as it dominates conversations from region to region and state to state. Liberalism demands equal treatment of good and evil.

But are most Americans too Self-Centered and Self-Absorbed to be prepared to withstand the nuclear threats it faces from various parts of the world, particularly from Iran and North Korea?

Accuracy - Liberals don't deal in good vs evil, they deal in what they consider humane, inhumane. While true they will often ignore personal choice and consequence that brought a person to a situation (illegal immigration, poverty among the uneducated and felons, etc), that is hardly trying to make "evil" acceptable. If you define good and evil based on what is in the Bible (ie homosexuality), that is your perogative, but hardly makes it a factual statement.

Vent 1 - you are correct, they ran on fiscal conservative platform and now want to pay professional facilitators for committees to resolve issues that were already discussed in committees and part of the strategic plan ... but seems they didn't like the answers so now money that the GPS District doesn't have due to failure to pass the additional state funding or the override will pay for facilitators - and to have separate legal counsel for the board. I think transparency was what was also preached - but just this week they have had their second hastily and really non-publicized "special" meeting, to review the Asst Superintendant's contracts. If they saw what happed to Dr Allison - I am sure they all have their resumes ready just like many others who see this train wreck coming.

    #1-Blank stare...
#2--Duh, that's what "Vent" is...if there were pleasantries to be revealed, it would be on the "Kumbaya" column...
#3--I'm ticked off about a few things, too...it's just that none of them are what I would deem "Universal" enough to share. Besides, responding to vents is more fun.
#4--There is the Left, the Right, and the anarchy of Silence, with a few rational sophists, and the occasional comedian thrown in.
#5--It's not a question of laziness--it's a question of clarity of vision, and intelligence. And, the location is immaterial.
#6--Rubio isn't even a good Uncle Tom figure, for the Republican Party...thirsty or not...
#7--Go ahead and eat yer meat...just remember, you can't have any pudding, if you don't eat yer beets!
#8--I don't know...is it guns, or guns in the hands of the oppressed? Or, is it the feeling of empowerment that having a gun bestows?
#9--A beautiful diatribe. You must have been educated at a real school. Certainly not in Arizona.

Conservative spending, after Mitt Romney's presidential campaign was challenged by nine media organization over “exorbitant charges” to reporters covering the campaign. The campaign charged reporters up to $812 for a single meal and a place to file their stories, and $1,000 for a seat on the bus.
