“No person would consider making a law that would allow people to pack a weapon into a restaurant that serves alcohol, let alone a bar. … Our dumb lawmakers need to adhere to a song from Johnny Cash, ‘Don’t Take Your Guns to Town, Son.’ This bill needs to end up like the guy in Johnny’s song, dead on the floor.”

“Well, Mesa has its new sales tax generator — A bright, shining new Circle K at the corner of Brown and Power roads. Is that the best we can do?”

“Has anyone else noticed the influx in out-of-state license plates on vehicles lately? If you are new to Arizona: living, working, or will have children in school, you are to immediately get an Arizona driver’s license and registration on your vehicle. Not next week, not next month and not next year, but immediately.”

“Seems Gov. (Mark) Sanford needs to learn some geography. If he’d said he was hiking the Pan-American highway, he might have explained being in Argentina.”

“I can see it all now. Michael Jackson’s unfortunate passing is going to spur a whole cottage industry of imitators, like with Elvis, and we are going to be feted with an abundance of imposters claiming Jackson never died. … This will make him a billionaire, again.”

“Do you want to know why our country is going broke? When (President Barack) Obama signs a bill, he uses a different pen for each letter of his name to give the pens away as a memento. I wonder if he dots the letter ‘i’ with a little heart or a smiley face?”
