“To the naive venter that thinks Walmart can afford to pay $10.10/hour since ‘the four Waltons have $33 billion each’: Honey, they aren’t going to use their money to fund the pay increase, they’ll get it from us via higher prices.”

“Interesting column by Tom Patterson about jobs needed by the poor. He spent a lot of column space complaining without offering a plan, very similar to his Republican counterparts in Washington: all talk, no action. Patterson did a good job of organizing groups of letters into word, which were then used to fill a blank spot on the editorial page. The blank spot would have been just as informative if it were titled ‘Republican jobs plan.’”

“How sad to drive past certain church buildings on Sundays, knowing that individuals inside believe they are consuming human flesh and blood, a practice once reserved for what civilized peoples called primitive barbarians. Ridiculous, you say? Not anymore so than recent letters proclaiming their distress and ignorance when passing the new Gilbert Temple. One man’s definition of sacrament is another man’s definition of cannibalism. To learn or to scorn: the first takes a curious mind, the second takes no mind at all.”

“The Arizona Republican Party has officially changed the name of it’s annual dinner from the ‘Trunk & Tusk’ dinner to the ‘Donner Party’ with this years entree being aged Jerky (or as the Frenchies would say ‘Zherkey ala John McCain’).”

“I don’t understand why some people feel the need to publicly proclaim that they are gay. It is a sexual preference that is better left private.”
