“Which genius in Mesa scheduled the street cleaners on the same day that the all of the garbage barrels are out on the street? At least the middle of the street is clean.”

“I can’t help wondering how many city of Mesa employees have driven by the mattress laying along the road for the last six months where University (Avenue) crosses the Roosevelt canal. We’re probably not paying them enough.”

“To the idiots at Mesa East Bowl who were drag racing and revving their engines loudly enough to set off car alarms until 2 in the morning, thank you very much. I will track you down and sit in your driveway, rev my engines and spin my tires someday.”

“I think that Tempe Union High School District should fix its own schools (Tribune, Saturday). I don’t see any reason why this state has to pay for it. That’s unfair. You built them. You fix them.”

“Most cities are stepping up to the plate on this immigration status. It’s time for the Tempe Police Department to step up and show their support to the other police departments.”

“If the city of Mesa still has employees that have been arrested for DUI, why are they still employees? A breathalyzer test isn’t going to do any good if they are alcoholics. They come in sober, but that doesn’t mean they are going to stay sober all day long.”

“You want to make money with the (Mesa) Arts Center, turn it into a casino.”

“(Director) John Junker, are you going be in charge as to what goes on at the Fiesta Bowl when all other colleges and sports games are going to be started with our national anthem performed the way it was written? It is not a ballad. It was written when our country was at war, and it should be performed with reverence.”

“That little boy who smashed into a van with his bicycle just learned a great lesson from his mother — that if you scream and yell, you can get out of accepting responsibility for your actions. The mother should have just paid the bill from the insurance company.”

“Obviously, if a parent doesn’t take responsibility to teach her child to ride safely on the road, provide a safe bike and require the wearing of a helmet, then does it surprise anyone that she does not take responsibility to pay her child’s damages that were imposed on someone else?”

“If his mother had any class, she would give that $100 gift card to Target to the family that owns the van that her kid damaged.”

“If I were Dylan Brovitch’s parents, I’d get a hold of a lawyer and get the driver of the van to pay for my boy’s bike, and then make a deal with the van owner to give them just $60 for the tire. That’s the only thing that should need to be paid for.”

“Any settlement you can make without a lawyer or in court is better than any settlement you can make with a lawyer or in court.”

“You guys are a bunch of techno-idiots. What about Firefox and Opera (Web) browsers? Way better than Internet Explorer and Netscape in any case.”
