“I don’t understand why the chief of police in Apache Junction would waste his time going door-to-door. He knows what the people want. They want him to get rid of the drug addicts.”

“I saw a Mesa police officer directing traffic . . . his left arm from the wrist up was covered with tattoos. I guess next comes body piercing. What a total lack of professionalism.”

-

“Gilbert’s deal with big league bad dreams just turned into a nightmare. What had been a $25 million, 50-year mess is now a $33.6 million, 67-year boondoggle.”

-

“I’m looking at this thing about the Gilbert council could OK tower painting. The last thing we knew was this was supposed to taken care of by private donations. Now, all of a sudden, this is going to be paid for by our taxes? We don’t want this stupid tower.”

-

“The Gilbert citizens should tell children to not go near strangers in the park who have cigarettes.”

-

“It’s nice that Bass Pro Shop is going to help stock the urban lakes. I don’t know why the property tax defeat had any bearing on stocking Mesa’s urban lakes.”

-

“Recently, I was diagnosed with Alzheimers’s (disease). I can drive now, but I won’t be able to drive very long. I wonder what I can do if I can’t have Dial-A-Ride because I can’t afford to call taxis and stuff?”

-

“Has anyone stopped to think that if funds are cut for our seniors and Dial-A-Ride, then many more of our seniors who really aren’t capable of driving will be out on the road doing just that?”

-

“I don’t feel sorry for those who lost Dial-A-Ride privileges. After all, most of them voted against the property tax. Who I feel sorry for are the kids. Their programs are being cut and they aren’t old enough to vote.”

-

“I want to congratulate the Mesa city government. The bike paths (on Broadway) between Lindsey and Mesa drives for weeks and weeks have been horrible with trash, glass, cans . . . Now, the bike paths are clean. They are not dangerous. They are usable.”

-

“Here’s an awesome thought. Registered Gilbert independents can vote in the Republican primary. And for the first time in history, there is a choice.”

-

“Is there not some sort of a restriction in Mesa on the type of signs that businesses can put up? I’m seeing more and more of them in Spanish and they’re handwritten signs and they are beginning to look pretty tacky.”

-

“American citizens who chose to have dual citizenship and live in a foreign country should have to pay to be evacuated if they are just, the first time a bomb hits, going to whine and cry.”

-

“How rotten do your teenagers have to be before you send them to the University of Beirut?”

-

“ ‘Dr. Z’ is hot, hot, hot. Taylor (Hicks) is not, not, not.”

-

“I’m not fat. I’m just warmer in the winter and shadier in the summer.”
