“Janet Napolitano as head of Homeland Security? Her greatest accomplishment as governor was to call press conferences and complain the federal government wasn’t doing its job. Now, I’m willing to bet a dime to donuts that she will now call press conferences to complain the states need to do more.”

“Gov. Napolitano’s appointment to the Obama cabinet frees up Arizona to actually do something about our ‘homeland security’ since about all the guv did was to veto everything. But just how safe will we be with her in charge of our country’s security and who is she going to blame when things go wrong?”

“Jan Brewer — let this be a reminder to you. Janet Napolitano won re-election as governor by a decisive margin, by 15 percent in 2006. … You will be expected to maintain the integrity and objectivity that Napolitano brought to office and to our state. And if not, you will be certain to hear from many Arizonans like myself.”

“Wahoo! Napolitano is gone. Now we can get this state back to working. Unfortunately I will also have to speed up the construction of my backyard shelter to hide my weapons and survival gear.”

“I’m so happy Janet’s going to Washington that I’m going to climb Squaw Peak just to celebrate.”

“The gay community lost it when they staged a protest across the street from a Mormon (temple) — basically demanding that the church delete a part of the Bible to meet their agenda — they do so at their own peril.”

“Worker killed in Wal-Mart stampede, two dead in shooting at Toy’s ‘R’ Us — what have we become in this season of peace and goodwill, animals?”

“I cried when I read the John Goodie column in (Saturday’s) paper. Thanks to John for writing it. By the way, I’m white and appreciate that he credited his white teammates for supporting him; however, I’m mainly crediting John Goodie for his nondiscrimination against whites. It does go both ways in today’s society.”

“I just want to say Merry Christmas to the lucky person that was behind me in the self check-out at the Home Depot, Power Road and U.S. 60, on Black Friday. I had so many things going through my head that morning that I forgot to grab the $40 from the change slot. Me being a good Republican, I’m already sharing my wealth before (Barack) Obama gets in office.”

“As a child I used to love the Thanksgiving parade from New York on TV. When I sat down with my kids Thursday to watch it, I was shocked at how little of the actual parade was shown, and how much instead was devoted to celebrities hawking their movies and TV shows.”

“If ASU President Michael Crow would gladly take a 10 percent pay cut, I think many of the students would manage somehow a 5 percent increase. However, Crow must jump in with sincerity.”

“I would appreciate whoever found my driver’s license and miscellaneous cards to mail them to me. I have already reported to (MVD). I would be glad to reimburse you. Thanks.”

“Ann Coulter’s mouth being wired shut (Vent, Monday) is only temporary. She will be blasting you stupid liberals soon enough, again.”
