“I don’t know why everyone is complaining that the Gilbert school board cut salaries, eliminated the teachers’ voices from negotiations, and secured all the power of decision making for themselves. After all, this strategy has worked very successfully in Communist Russia, Nazi Germany, and... and... oh wait... maybe there IS a problem here!”

“I can’t believe that the third largest city has so few jobs. All the jobs are in Tempe, Phoenix, and Chandler. Is it the taxes? Mesa’s a great city. Too bad there are no jobs here. And when a new business opens up, they don’t last very long. Most of the people who live here don’t work in Mesa. What does that tell you?”

“Response to the April 28 Vent about the homeless in downtown Mesa: Paz de Cristo at Broadway and Country Club and the St. Vincent de Paul charity dining room nearby mean that Mesa probably won’t be “getting rid of” the homeless downtown anytime soon. Talk to these people (I did, but I don’t work in downtown Mesa anymore). Most of them just want to be treated like human beings.”

“One of the main arteries to Banner Desert Hospital and Mesa Community College is Southern Ave. So I guess it makes great sense to turn Southern Avenue from three lanes down to two lanes each way. There is no shortage of short range planning at the City of Mesa. Nothing like making it more difficult for emergency vehicles trying to get patients to the hospital.”

“Just wondering! How large of a shoehorn does it take to get Shaq in and out of the LaCrosse in the Buick add?”

“Why does congress only take action when their flights are delayed? Austerity is for everyone else, not them! Why does congress only want to take action when Syrians are massacred and no action when when American first graders are massacred? Gun lobbyist support Syrians, while American 1st graders have no lobbyist.”

“With the conviction of the Democratic party workers in Indiana it has been proven that Obama was on the primary ballot illegally. This raises the question, is this the only state with this kind of fraud? And, why don’t primary petition require proof that proof of ID was shown? Something like a driver’s license number, state ID card number or voter registration card number? Oh that’s right, Democrats fight that tooth and nail and now we know why.”
