“Murder, armed robbery and suicide are just a few of the ‘traditional gun activities’ left out of your happy ode to the Second Amendment (Our View, Friday).”

“Murder, armed robbery and suicide are just a few of the ‘traditional gun activities’ left out of your happy ode to the Second Amendment (Our View, Friday).”

Have more to say? Send in your vent

“Why does the right to own a gun to defend ourselves in our homes include Uzis and AK-47s? In my opinion, these weapons should be banned absolutely from individual ownership.”

“What scares me the most is that we can get such diverse opinions from nine people, and I stress nine common people, on the Supreme Court. They are supposed to have the same constitutional expertise. You don’t think the decisions could be purely political decisions, do you?”

“They want to raise hundreds of millions of dollars in bonds for new theme park in Eloy. I just want to ask one stupid question. Who in their right mind is going to sit on vinyl seats and grab a hold of metal bars to hold themselves in when it’s 115 degrees in the Arizona sun?”

“Is it my imagination, or does WALL-E look an awful lot like Circuit No. 5?”

“Is it too much to ask candidates running for election, or re-election, to advertise their party affiliation on all those signs I see on corner lots? Or are you Republicans too embarrassed at the mess you have made of this country to take responsibility? You can’t hide behind anonymity forever, you know.”

“Oh c’mon, knee-jerk, give us a break. ‘Rich environmentalists?’ I’ve been around enviros all my life, and never known a single one who even comes close to being ‘rich.’ … The rich ones are the Hummer-driving execs who want to keep you addicted to your oil habit — and very successfully, it would seem.”

“Why the concern that China is drilling in the gulf? Cuba has a right to sell their oil rights. There are no U.S. restrictions concerning drilling in the gulf. For decades, the U.S. drilled in the Middle East for their oil — oh, I forgot, the U.S. owns the world.”

“You may have to get dressed for work every day (Vent, Thursday), but you do not face the possibility of your clothes being torn and dirtied in a scuffle with a criminal, thrown up by a drunk, spit on by the contemptuous or bled on by the injured. You are one self-righteous person.”

“Would the law enforcement agencies in each city in the Valley stop bickering and just enforce the laws and do your job?”

“This is for the editor. He’s a moron.”

“In spite of outrageous record profits (and) over $4 for a gallon of gasoline, ExxonMobile tried to weasle out of its commitment and its responsibility to the citizens of Alaska for (defiling) their land and destroying their livelihood, and to get the pro-Bush Supreme Court to go along with them in not paying their fair share.”

“Oh, George Bush makes a deal with the axis of evil (North Korea). Appeaser!”

“Hooray for the newspaper, having the guts to change its format. Hooray for the size of the Vent. You can finally read it. It’s not so small.”

“I hate change, except when the change is changing back what was changed to what it was before the change.”
