“Have you see an episode of Leave it to Beaver lately? It finds its humor in kids lying to parents, being sassy mouthed, sneaking behind parents’ backs and trying not to get caught. It has strong racist and sexist vibes. It’s not violent, but it’s not the values I want for my family. Look it up on Netflix if you think I’m wrong. If you want good values, try Little House on the Prairie and Mr. Rogers.”
“I turned to my 19-year-old daughter and said, ‘If it’s ‘God’s will’ that a woman should become pregnant as a result of rape, why isn’t it ‘God’s will’ if she should use her own judgment to terminate said pregnancy, using the advances in medicine that God presumably allowed Man to acquire?”
“Criminal courts across the country and criminal attorneys are going to have to prepare themselves for the new plea of Not Guilty By Reason of God’s Will.”
“I am a proud GOP birther, I worship the ground Donald Trump walks on. And I aint as dumb as you think I is!”
“Stop the presses! According to a BBC News Service poll, Pakistan is endorsing Mitt Romney! In fact, it is the only nation the BBC polled that has endorsed Romney. Aren’t y’all proud?”
“President Obama said he wants to get the economy moving ahead and have the wealthy pay a little more in taxes. The Republicans said that they will not raise taxes on anyone. So if you vote for President Obama you will have four more years like the last four because the Democrats and Republicans will never agree on the wealthy paying more taxes.”
“When the leading liberal newspaper in Arizona comes out and supports a Republican, Mitt Romney for President, you know that America is in big, big trouble. The editorial mentions ‘the debt monster’, ‘economic stagnation’, and ‘anemic, sub-2 percent rate of growth’. The Editorial goes on to say that ‘America needs a return to that kind of economic power, that kind of jobs-creating energy’. Truer words were never said about this election.”
“Despite the environmental extremists and the coalition of the liberal Democrats that have blocked new potential oil production in Arctic National Wildlife Refuge’s 1.5 million-acre coastal plain in Alaska, the United States may be on its way to becoming the top oil producer in the world and imports of oil could fall by half. The biggest U.S. oil rush in decades, with oil exploration, and new drilling methods in North Dakota, that have led to a rapid increase in American oil production. United States could reach 11.4 million barrels a day next year, just below Saudi Arabia’s output of 11.6 million.”

Vent #1: Yes things sure have changed over the years with the moral lessons of Television. From parents sleeping in separate beds to gays sleeping together, from happy children playing in the neighborhood to vampires. Lots of changes and many for the worse.
Vent #2: Keep the government out of the womb. There is a reason it's called a birthday.
Vent #3: Again, Keep the government out of the womb.
Vent #4: Another facetious statement from a elitist liberal Obamabot. LOL
Vent #5: Almost as stupid a statement as the one where 70% of Europeans think Obama is a right of center conservative to them.
Vent #6: All the democrats have is a Tax more and Spend more policy. The republicans want to Spend less and Tax less and then let a free market make up the difference.
Vent #7: AZ Republic sure surprises it's readers. It promotes liberal/progressive stories, with 3 of the most liberal columnists in the state, all year long and then endorses a conservative. Go figure.
Vent #8: The increase in oil and gas production is great and without the help of our green energy president who has done everything he in his power to stop the production of coal, another source of energy and slow the production of oil and gas on federal land. Drill baby drill.

God gave man "free will", to make his own decisions based on either God-like purity and morality (fat chance) or based on his own devises.
The incentive and decision to abort an embryo is not God-produced, but rather by man.

I have never been more proud of Twit Romney, he looked so presidential. Romney's response to Huricane Sandy that has devastated the east coast, Romney is having a food drive, where can I send my cans of tuna fish and peanut butter, that's if they are not tainted, maybe we can have car washes in Arizona.
Women voters: Romney sounds like his views hiring women into leadership roles as an "excercise in tokenism." Romney them compounded his "tone-deaf" sexism by proudly noting that he gave female employees flexable working schedules so that they could rush home to cook dinner for their families. Women are not stupid 40% of female voters say abortion is the most important issue to them-which explains why Romney is fleeing from the "absolutes anti-abortion position of his party," and rebranding himself as a cuddly moderate. But if he's elected, he'll apoint from 1-3 conservative Supreme Court Justices-making the end of Roe V/S wade inevitable. The Washington Post-TheDailyBeast.com

Didn't think so...now get back in the playpen!

Apparent magnitude . . . The oil production of the United States is on a sharp upward climb, and that should please anyone who is rooting for American’s increased determination to extend the benefits of energy independence and sustainability into the future.
This news, of boom in oil production, comes during a time when Americans are increasingly concerned about oil prices and stability in the Middle East. Citibank forecasts that the United States could reach 13 to 15 million barrels a day by 2020.
North Dakota is now the second leading oil producer in the U.S., and it is good to see an increased domestic production fueling a healthy trend away from foreign oil and toward the oil that’s produced across the U.S.
Where does the trans-Alaska pipeline oil go? Japan -- (so Arizona Willie thinks) -- but how much of the exported U.S. oil originated in Alaska?
FACT: The amount of oil flowing through the trans-Alaska pipeline from Alaska’s North Slope (ANS) is about 720,000 barrels a day, none of which is exported outside the United States. CLICK ON: http://www.snopes.com/politics/gasoline/alaskaoil.asp:

Montini almost invariably writes about the struggles of the "little guy" and the establishment, be it immigration, or homelessness, or poverty, or, you know, social issues...that is why I call him a Liberal, and I think it's a fair label, in historical context.
The reason the paper is for illegal immigration (or is that against forced labor camps?), is not because of any great Liberal cause...you are right, it's the MONEY. And, conservatives use this as both a means to villify the Left, and to keep their indentured labor pool large enough to keep profits going.
As for Sheriff Joe, you are probably right, in your characterization, but, in my estimation, the Sheriff has brought on most of the backlash himself, and not just on immigration issues. He was always a bit of a nut, but, over the years, has fallen prey to his own persona...he actually believes he is the Wyatt Earp of the present day (present day meaning the fifties). There's just one small thing wrong here--he is a sworn officer of the law, not the hired gun of a desparate town, trying to get rid of the sheepherders.
Wyatt Earp was not the hero of the American West...he was a bully, who wore a badge. So is Joe Arpaio. The news media notwithstanding, the A-hole designation fits, and always has...

Bluepoet, about the ONLY thing Montini has taken a liberal position on is illegal immigration.Virtually ALL columnists for the Arizona bird cage liner have taken the liberal side of that because they have been TOLD to or find someplace else to work.
The only LIBERAL slanted articles are those against Sheriff Joe and for illegal immigration. The publishers think everyone is a graduate of Arizona education and no one is capable of remembering back when Sheriff Joe was the greatest Sheriff who ever pinned on a badge, according to all the Arizona media.Until he decided to enforce the laws against illegal immigration and suddenly Sheriff Joe went from being the greatest to being the greatest A-hole to ever be a Sheriff.ALL BECAUSE OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.Just shows you the power of money and MONEY wants illegal labor and they will darn well get it.

AZ Willie,
Usually, when I see someone referring to the Liberal Arizona newspaper, they are talking about the Republic, which is the conservative bastion of influence, and has been for many, many years (hint-the name of the paper!). That just lights up how far right this state has become, in recent years. It probably stems from the Fox propaganda, which labels all other networks "Liberal", and the local NBC affiliate is owned by Gannett, as well as the Republic--therefore, it's Liberal, by default.
The Republic is conservative, but it does have two Liberal contributors--Benson, and Montini, who are there simply to whip up controversy, which sells papers.
Don't you just love the logic employed there?
I know, when I first encountered this, I thought they were referring to the New Times, myself...

7th Venter ... where did you find a Liberal newspaper in Arizona?
Hmm, maybe at the airport news stand.
Sure as heck isn't one printed in Arizona.
Arizona Willie posted at 7:51 am on Wed, Oct 31, 2012.
8th venter ... and that raises the question -- Why are we importing any oil in the first place since we are exporting millons of barrels of petroleum products per day?
Want to see the price of gas fall drastically?
Outlaw exporting of ANY petroleum products.
The oil companies would be CHOKING on all the oil and begging us to buy gas at 29 cents a gallon once again.
Why is the price of gasoline pegged to the price of oil on the world market when we have so much oil we can export it?
98% of the Alaskan pipeline oil is sold to Japan instead of being refined for American use.
AND WE GIVE THE OIL COMPANIES BILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN SUBSIDIES ON TOP OF THEIR HUMONGOUS PROFITS.
