“2009 as the year of the conservative? Let’s see, Republican governor, Republican Legislature, whiny libertarians at the Goldwater Institute. Yeah, I figure it’s another Bush administration.”

“To the deaf guy who took half a tray each of salt and pepper condiments — hundreds — from McDonald’s and looked around to see if management was seeing you, you are one of the many reasons why stores have no honor systems anymore and why prices are higher.”

“Forty years ago, I graduated from high school with 24 academic credits. I managed to be a varsity cheerleader, competitive athlete, participate in student government, national honor society as well as academic and social clubs. During the school year I baby sat, worked on weekends and every summer. Gilbert parents should stop whining about a single credit increase graduation requirement and insist upon academic excellence.”

“Schnepf Farms needs to go away. Apparently the (Queen Creek) Town Council has put off the vote so that these positive editorials can be printed in favor of Schnepf Farms to win some positive approval. They overcharge at their other events and are just trying to come up with other ideas to make money. You want to make money, sell the farm.”

“I think it’s cool, sarcastically here, that APS wants to pay its top executives $700,000 a year, charge people $5 to use a debit or credit card over the phone to pay their bills and also raise their rates. If the executives would work for $100,000 a year, we wouldn’t have to pay these fees.”

“Dick Cheney says if you listen to the polls, you shouldn’t have this job. But the polls are the voices of we the people.”

“It is understandable why our country is in the mess it’s in, by just reading some of the comments in the Vent. People have no respect for the office of the president. Some of the comments made about President Bush are unexcusable. People have no respect for theirselves, so they have to blame someone.”

“So while George Bush was ruining our standing in the world, and deregulating us into the gutter, his lovely wife forgot how to cook. My, oh my, I hope they can figure out how to survive 'on the outside.’ It’s tough out here.”

“A Sunday vent said we should be ashamed for laughing at Bush’s shoe incident. I say next time, get someone with a better aim.”

“For the person that’s tired of hearing 'buy American,’ please leave America ASAP. You don’t realize that your buying habits are a big part of what’s wrong with our current economy!”

“The word 'Democrat’ is a noun. When using it as an adjective you add 'ic’ to the root word making it 'Democratic.’ (The Dec. 13) editorial referred to “Thomas’ Democrat opponent.” The only people who consistently employ this grammatical faux pas are Republics trying to be funny or U of A journalism alums.”

“I took hormones for eight years and guess what? I ended up with breast cancer. However, it was discovered early through my yearly mammogram. I have been a cancer survivor now for nine years because of early detection and getting off hormone therapy. Get your mammograms, too!”
