The 3rd Amendment refers to being forced to house soldiers. I fail to see the connection.

Most worthless argument there is. Guess what? The world is dangerous, and every day, thousands of kids are going to die. And we can't prevent it.

Vent #8: I find it ironic that you want to outlaw certain guns to "Save the life of a child" but support abortion that takes the life of a child.

The difference between shooting a child (or any person) and abortion is that the second is the choice of the mother (parents) and the removal of human tissue. A fetus is not a human being until it is born!

“The government is coming after your guns” . . . and since President Obama's domestic agenda last year was aimed at new gun laws – gun retailers say a surge in gun sales reached a record high in December and has continued into 2013.

Pew Research , 63% of U.S. adults favor abortion. GLOBAL abortion 28 out of 1,000, total in 2008, 43.8 million. Illegal abortions 47,000 deaths, 8.5 million serious medical complications. For more information WWW.huffingtonpost.com/.../abortion/rates-higher-countries illegal-st... I am waiting for a logical factual discussion on abortion, I'm not intertested in religious beliefs, because the U.S. has fredom from religion. To make abortions illegal will really be making illegal abortions unsafe.

Truth and Retiree2000, before you determine that baby is nothing more then a blob of tissue, you better take a second look at this site IF you really do have an open mind. http://www.priestsforlife.org/resources/abortionimages/index.htm
As far as 63% of Adults favoring abortion, That's not what Gallup says.
http://www.gallup.com/poll/1576/abortion.aspx
It says 28% believe that abortion should be unrestricted and 52% believe abortion is OK ONLY under certain circumstances. Even I agree with that. Is your main argument FOR sacrificing the baby with abortion is because it will save women's lives from illegal abortions? Well if your going to use that logic look how many children's lives would be saved if you made child molestation legal? Now the Pedophiles wouldn't have to murder the children after they molest them because they fear what the law will do to them. Is the first scenario really that different from the second?
Retiree2000 posted at 6:23 pm on Wed, Jan 23, 2013.
Sorry, rebel, but your argument about pedophiles lacks any factual basis. Most kids are molested by someone they know (father, grandfather, uncle, brother, stepfather, priest, preacher, teacher, coach, family friend, etc.) who DO NOT kill them. Very few children are molested and killed by strangers. In fact, one of the worst programs ever developed and foisted upon our youth is "Stranger Danger" since it is not based on factual data. The number of abortions can be reduced by making information about birth control more readily available along with legitimate sex education courses taught by trained instructors. However, that being said, a woman should have control of her body and make the choice about abortion with her spouse (if one is present). It should not be legislated by men or by the religious right.
PatrioticPerson posted at 8:01 pm on Wed, Jan 23, 2013.
Abortion should NOT be a form of birth control. There are many many other options for birth control. People must take responsibility for their actions and the actions of their children (minors). Education of the facts and at an early age is imperative. But abortions must be available in cases of rape and incest and the health of the mother. But those are decisions to be made by the mother, father and their faith. Not politicians!!!!!!!!!!!

Roe v. Wade made it a right to end the life of an unborn child, and 40 years ago America became one of the only Western countries to offer no legal protection to the unborn at any stage of development. The abortion decision made by the Supreme Court in 1973 has cost the United States more than 55 million people. That's roughly one baby aborted every 30 seconds.
In the fight against abortion where babies are killed before they are born, the pro-life movement says the nation has now closed 1,500 abortion clinics. Only 660 remain.
Arizona Willie posted at 10:23 am on Thu, Jan 24, 2013.
Accuracy, you say that Roe vs Wade has cost the United States more than 55 million people.
How do you count people who never existed? Very similar to counting how many angels can dance on the head of a pin.
One baby aborted every 30 seconds? More numbers you pull from that famous orifice where the sun don't shine.
If you want to throw numbers around on such a serious subject --- you need to provide links to your sources.
Otherwise you are just vomiting propaganda.

Accuracy: my my my, we're supposed to accept a Twitter post as a FACT?
And the Washington Times article used the number of 55 million -- but it DID NOT back it up with any FACTS. Just a number they pulled out of the air apparently.
And then for desert you present us with, of all things, A SERMON. And, once again, in the text of that sermon there are NO FACTS. The say their data comes from the Guttmacher Institute ( an anti-abortion group -- what else would you expect ). But since abortion doctors do not report how many procedures they have done, there is no basis for the figure from the Guttmacher Institute. I'd never heard of that outfit before so it obviously is VERY prestigious.
Sorry, Accuracy, I don't accept those figures. Everything is from a right wing source with no reliable means of obtaining the numbers they claim. They can only guess how many abortions were performed.
There is no data base in existence anywhere that records those procedures.
You'll need something better than articles claiming figures from an anti-abortion think tank and a sermon and a Twitter post.
Arizona Willie posted at 12:41 pm on Thu, Jan 24, 2013.
I just pulled up my calculator and ran the numbers.
40 years = 14,600 days
55,000,000 abortions
That makes 3767 abortions per day.
Now if you were talking world wide I would say that was possible.
But in the United States alone ... I don't believe so.
That would be 157 abortions per hour 24 hours a day around the clock.
Since there ARE NO RECORDS of how many abortions any / each doctor who performs the proceedures has done ... any on who claims to KNOW is a LIAR.
They can only guesstimate. And their bias causes them to think it is just fine to stretch the truth in any way necessary to make a case against choice.
I'm not pro-abortionl. If a woman in my life was pregnant I would not want her to do that.
BUT --- it is her choice.
It is NOT my place to impose my preferences upon her.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have conducted abortion surveillance to document the number of women obtaining legal induced abortions in the United States.
And on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 – pro-life community members of Live Action, Black Americans for Life, and other pro-life activists, laid some 3,300 flowers in front of the U.S. Supreme Court in Washington D.C. to remind the justices that 3,300 children have died every day since the 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling. Yes, that's 55 million across the four decades.
truth posted at 2:25 pm on Thu, Jan 24, 2013.
If abortions becomes illegal will abortions stop or just become illegal abortions?, past history is the answer. Abortions started when man and women found sex.
Arizona Willie posted at 5:24 pm on Thu, Jan 24, 2013.
Accuracy: you claim the CDC has conduct abortion surveillance. Just exactly how did they do this " abortion surveillance "?
The CDC is NOT concerned with abortion -- it is concerned with DISEASE as in Center for Disease Control. Thus it's name.
In the first place -- just how do you think the CDC sureillance was done? Did they have a guy sitting outside the office of EVERY known doctor who performs abortions? I think not.
In the second place where did you get this " factoid " about CDC having done this " surveillance "?
In the third place .. what members of various anti-abortion groups did with some flowers has no power to make their claims into facts.
So far all of your " statistics " have turned out to be pretty hollow. The basis for your 55 million abortions claim is the Guttmacher Institute which is simply an anti- abortion think tank and that makes the claim very suspicious. And when I run the numbers and see it would require 157 abortions per hour 24 hours a day I call " bovine excrement ".
Accuracy posted at 10:52 am on Sat, Jan 26, 2013.
According to the Alan Guttmacher Institute, the number of abortions remained steady at about 1.2 million reported procedures in 2011, down 25% since the all-time high in 1990. In 2006, through publicly funded family planning services, there were 1.94 million abortions.
Last year – in January 23, 2012 – an estimated 54,559,615 abortions were tabulated since Roe vs. Wade Decision in 1973.
In tabulating the number of abortions, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) relies on figures from state health departments, some of which rely on voluntary reporting — and it did not have data from some states such as California and New Hampshire for more than a decade.
