“So, Sheriff Joe Arpaio is citing ‘understaffed’ in his own defense of his botched sex crimes cases. You know, that missing hundred million dollars he never accounted for would have gone a long way towards hiring more people.”

“I want to commend the Chandler Police Department for making the money saving move of purchasing patrol cars without turn signals. I’m sure that’s a fact, as the last several patrol cars I’ve seen making turns did not display a turn signal and I’m certain they would be the first to set an example by using them. Thanks much for watching our tax dollars.”

“Until you liberals apologize for every rotten thing you called Bush for eight years, you have no right to complain when Obama is called a dope. So just shut up and quit your whinin’, you hypocrites!”

“With the tragedy and deaths caused by the ex-L.A. cop, if the liberal wackos are to be consistent, they will be calling for police gun bans, clip limits, registration and background checks and other restrictions. Perhaps they could carry only one bullet as did Mayberry’s Barney Fife!”

“First Nancy Pelosi says ‘We have to pass the (health care) bill so you can find out what is in it.’ Now she says she says government doesn’t have a spending problem. This is such a fine example of leadership from the Democrats, she should have run for president.”

“Here’s another hint for employers to help get people back to work: If you find an applicant who has all, or most, of your qualifications, save yourself and the applicant a bunch of anxiety and skip the job interview. Just hire the person directly.”

“I asked some of my friends at the old folks home if they had ever seen John McCain as agitated as when he was questioning Chuck Hagel. The only time they could remember was when McCain was the head bus boy at the last supper and the apostles stiffed him with only a 5 percent tip.”

“So the legislature wants to add 20 days to the school calendar but knows that the additional money may not cover many things including compensating teachers. Really? The state hasn’t funded education appropriately for the last several years and now you want us to work more and not get fully compensated for it. Amazing!”

“A plea bargain allows innocent people to be guilty.”

I will bash George W. Bush all I want, because I offer facts. George W. Bush should be tried for war crimes and treason.
    1. Bush ignored at least 6 warnings from the CIA on a pending 9/11 attack.
    2. Bush and the Republicans ignored and rejected putting a overseer in charge of Fannie and Freddie, causing the housing bust.

    3. Bush went to war against Afghanistan against every military leaders advice.
    4. Bush lied about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, another failed war.
    5. Bush left the U.S. In the greatest recession since the great depression, and caused a recession in the rest of the world.
    6. Don't blame Obama because the National Debt is at $16 trillion, Bush's tax cut for the the wealth 1%, the cost of two failed war add out sourcing eight million U.S. Jobs to communist China adds to the debt.

I am so absolutely flabbergasted upon reading Linda Turley Hansen's guest commentary entitled, "Continuing the conversation on alcohol and guns" that I didn't even know what to say. Way to go, Linda! The usual right-wing rationalization for the "guns for everyone, everywhere, all types, all the time" policy they and the NRA covet lies on the misplaced scrutiny we fail to impose on all the mentally ill in this country. According to the hard core right, all gun violence is due to the mentally ill or criminally insane (even though the NRA still opposes background checks for mental illness or felons). It's a tiresome and misdirected excuse, but it is the "bread and butter" rationalization of the NRA.

But now Ms. Hansen has eased all of our minds about the dangers of our nation's epidemic of gun ownership because the United States, it appears, consumes a lot of alcohol. Excellent, Linda. maybe we should all go out and shoot somebody, because after all, there are a whole lot of drunk drivers out there. When you grow up, Linda, you will realize that our wonderful country has a lot of problems. However, ignoring one because of the presence of another is as immature a stance as any adult can take.

Congratulations Truth, I was against any form of gun control until I read your insane Liberal, it's never our fault rant. I now firmly believe that you should not be allowed to own a gun in your current mental state! [wink]

truth, from his post it's obvious that onerebel had a problem accepting facts that don't jive with the right wing propaganda spewed forth by Rush and his accomplices.

If right wingers were willing to look at facts objectively --- they would be LIBERALS.

"If right wingers were willing to look at facts objectively --- they would be LIBERALS."
Now that's funny! You two should start your own comedy skit, OH wait, I think you just did. So Lets SEE how objective you, think your better then the rest of us Liberals really are?
The market crash was set in motion when Jimmy Carter and the Democratic majority Congress passed the Community Reinvestment Act. The act gave INCENTIVES to low income borrowers to get home mortgages they couldn’t afford. In 1995 Bill Clinton revised the Community Reinvestment Act FORCING banks to approve subprime mortgages even though it could result in defaulting on the loan, because borrowers couldn’t afford the payments. The Republicans, lead by John McCain, warned in 2004 that tax payers would be stuck with the bill if something wasn’t done to correct the accounting fraud. Democrats were mad, and said there was no problem, so they blocked any effort to reform the lending practices, then blamed the Republican's when it did crash. (sound familiar?) As for the Afghanistan war that was voted for by Democrats because it was against groups that attacked us. What should we have done differently, oh wise ones with ALL the answers? Then to continue to blame Bush for Obama's reckless spending, and claim it's only the LIBERAL'S that are willing to look at facts objectively. So that is how being more open minded looks in your Liberal world? [beam]

Yeah, that's how it happened, onerebel. First Jimmy Carter (really? The 70's?), then Bill Clinton made banks give a house or three to any ol' minority that asked. Then they all defaulted and crashed the economy. There was no greed involved, at least not on the part of the banks forced to operate under Carter's and Clinton's totalitarian regimes. I think the FBI even sealed all of the paperwork on those subprime mortgages - forcing any bank executive that might have even wanted to do their job to instead just take Uncle Sam's word for it.

onerebel: yes some Democrats DID vote for the war.

Because --- THEY WERE LIED TO.

And they made the mistake of trusting a Republican President. They didn't believe a President would deliberately LIE to America.

    THEY WERE WRONG.

There was a program on last night about how Bush / Cheney lied to America.
I didn't see it, but I saw an article about it on the net and they had copies of the papers of various people in the meetings in the White House that PROVED they knew better and were deliberately lying.

Many of the Generals were flabbergasted but couldn't say anything because of the rules they have to live under. Some walked out of the meetings because they were so angry.

But, history will prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Bush / Cheney deliberately lied to the American people --- and to Congress.

Az Willie, were they lied to like Obama lied about the cause of the Benghazi attack, or was it just bad intelligence like Obama is claiming on Benghazi? Believe me Obama's lies will go down in history also. If your talking about the Iraq war I will not defend that war, however if your referring to the Afghanistan war then my question to the Liberals stands. What would you have done differently after being attacked by groups BASED in Afghanistan? Nothing? Appeasement? I think a boot in their backside was 100% correct. As for the housing crash, MOST financial experts agree that the housing crash was one of the major causes of the economy collapse. They also agree that the stated income loans that banks WERE FORCED to give to low income, mostly minority borrowers that ended up defaulting, was a major factor in the housing crash. So are you Liberals really going to try and claim that it was the cold uncaring Republican's that forced banks to give the poor mostly minorities loans for homes? [wink]

Before you Republicans start screaming "Fannie, Freddie and Barney Frank!" (parroting your favorite media propagandists of course), just remember that the housing problems reached critical mass between 2003-2006 when Republicans had controlled Congress and the White house.

Presidential Task Force headed by Hank Paulson:

"The turmoil in financial markets clearly was triggered by a dramatic weakening of underwriting standards for US subprime mortgages, beginning in late 2004 and extending into early 2007."

Interesting how the Democrat's are blaming all the problems today on the Bush administration from several years ago, yet the housing problem had NOTHING to do with the prior Administration on that? Right! So that means it was Republican's that wanted the poor to have homes, and the Democrats were the ones that didn't care about poor minorities !

I get a kick out of Republicans who continue to deny that climate change is real. The evidence is overwhelming yet continue to deny. Not surprised coming from a party that yelled and screamed about death panels.

As far as insults go, Bush was called an idiot, stupid and a moron and for good reason. The left never attacked his religion, his race, his family, his birthright, or his education. We didn't make up stories about his past. Our political leaders never vowed to make Bush a one term President, or shout 'you lie" during his address or point fingers in his face. That is the short list. Stop denying the hate for Obama, you're not fooling anyone.

To "onerebel" the housing crash happened due to Bush's policies that brought down credit restrictions which allowed so many folks to buy homes they could not afford. Throw in deregulation which led to shady underhanded lending from institutions and the housing bubble burst. Then have the nerve to blame the buyers. Followed by no effort to help those same folks keep their homes. The Republicans have no credibility for helping anyone outside wealthy individuals and corporations. The GOP caused the financial crisis and hasen't lifted a finger to turn things around for the better since then.
