"The people that believe President Obama doesn't know what to do regarding the chaos in the Middle East are wrong. More chaos leads to higher gasoline prices which results in more federal tax revenue from gasoline sales, more demand for ‘clean energy' and an opportunity for him to use the crisis to ram a cap-and-trade tax into our orifices."

"As read in this paper, a Queen Creek restaurant owner put in solar at a cost of about $300,000, of which $250,000 was covered in various government grants. For that $250,000 tax dollars, we are saving a private company 60 percent off its SRP bill. Doesn't seem good public policy, especially after the next major hail storm breaks all those panels and our $250,000 is down the drain."

"It is ironic that the ceremony to give President Obama the Sunshine Award for transparency and openness was canceled, and no one was given the reason why."

"Seeing that Japan holds even more of our deficit than China does, how about if our current aid can reduce that some? And, seeing that Japan cannot produce some of the parts we (and other countries) need, how about relocating some of those factories to the U.S.? Seems like a better idea than shutting down our factories - as GM has done."

While I agree with your conclusion, that conflict leads to higher oil prices, I question your use of those conclusions. There is much more at stake here that higher oil prices. Yet you are correct. If we got on the side of Ghadafi, we might stop the conflict and lower prices. Now, should Ghadafi prevail, our being against him will lead to much more clandestine but state sponsored terrorism, terrorism going way beyond Lockerbie. If Ghadafi is overthrown, there is no telling what problems we will be facing next. Higher oil prices are likely. So don't bet your bottom dollar on lower oil prices.

So what's new? The idea is forFfederal aid [and in the past State aid, too] to stimulate the industry, help bring prices down, and then end subsidies as the market takes over. But I feel the pain, too.

    Third Venter:

Must have missed that announcement. Wonder why? How did you get this news?

Don't hold your breath on this one! You'll pass out!

    -----------------------------------------

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said Obama was a deserving recipient of the Sunshine Award because he has “demonstrated a commitment to transparency and openness… greater than any administration has shown in the past.”

But why did the White House abruptly cancel event scheduled that Wednesday afternoon?

Mostly, because of Obama’s preparations for a Latin America trip to Brazil. In his de facto moratorium concerning offshore oil development in Brazil, Obama tells the Brazilians:

“We want to help you with the technology and support to develop these oil reserves safely. And when you’re ready to start selling, we want to be one of your best customers.”

A Liberal president for "continued ban" of offshore drilling in the United States, on Alaska’s continental shelf. Out promoting more oil imports from Latin America . . . which means no support for unleashing US energy resources and the jobs for more workers in this nation.

    [In]Accuracy,

Off Short drilling is not banned. After the BP disaster, practically no drilling companies or consortiums have lined up for new permits. BP illustrated just how risky drilling in the Gulf at depth is. And today we see a mystery oil slick has just appeared. No one needs to promote oil imports from Latin American. $110 a barrel prices speak louder than does anything else. "Unleasing US energy resources" implies that they are leashed up. Care to give examples?

I'm curious... what's "off short drilling"?

It was a Wall Street Journal article titled “Obama Underwrites Offshore Drilling” it stated that the Obama Administration was funding offshore drilling in Brazil while banning drilling in the Gulf of Mexico.

But Liberals keep saying that Obama’s banning of offshore drilling in the entire Gulf was because of the disaster of the BP oil spill. Not to mention Alaska’s continental shelf.

Read Obama’s statement to Bravil again. It clearly says; to develop Brazilian offshore oil to help the Brazilian economy create jobs for Brazilian workers . . . Not for USA workers.
