“I love the Vent. It lets me believe that there are Americans out there with a brain.”

“I suppose the Republicans will blame all this (Sandy) thing on Obama too, like he caused it.”

“If you want to see what an ‘out-of-touch’ liberal mayor looks like, go no further than the Big Apple’s Mayor Bloomberg. He will be giving free food and drink to 20,000-plus marathon out-of-town runners to show that NYC is ‘back-to-normal’.”

“Bloomberg of New York is playing the politico cards to ‘his’ advantage. Why, all of a sudden, would he support Obama? Could it be he’s struck a deal to have the Feds foot the bill for NYC. Just business as usual.”

“A quote from a Dow Chemical recent earnings report. ‘The one bright spot during the quarter was that cyanide demand was up.’ ”

“I was taken aback to read the views of one of our fellow Venters who observed that with a president like John McCain (and presumably Mitt Romney) America would have already attacked and defeated Libya, Syria, and be on the way to Tehran. But, in fact, he faithfully reflects an attitude which is very popular in America today. We are ready to intervene anywhere and crush any group of foreigners who disagree with us. A recipe in which America, the Big Bully of the World, sets itself on the path of perpetual war.”

“Why is it that Romney gets to criticize Obama for his turns of phrase (like ‘Romnesia’, where Romney forgets previous positions he once held on his political positions), yet he gets to make fun of Obama’s one-word campaign slogan, ‘Forward’ (saying it should be ‘Forewarned’)? Seems to me that what is good for Romney’s cooked goose, should be fair game for Obama’s gander.”

“To the Venter who was gloating about ‘the leading liberal newspaper in Arizona endorsing Romney’, I wonder what you think about the Salt Lake Tribune endorsing Obama? In their editorial, ‘Too Many Mitts’, they called Romney ‘the party’s shape-shifting nominee’, and asked, ‘Who is this guy, really, and what in the world does he truly believe?’ They go on to say, ‘Romney... is shameless, lavishing vastly diverse audiences with words, any words, they would trade their votes to hear’. Pretty stern words from the usually conservative, No. 1 Mormon newspaper. And to this, I say, ‘Amen!’ ”

“When the President call’s out Romney on the 47% gaffe, Romney should tell Obama that ‘you started the class-warfare by going after the 1% and increasing their taxes. Gotcha! And you said you were going to serve the whole populace evenly.’ ”
