I have been a resident of Arizona for 40-plus Years and I do not understand why the issues surrounding our current Attorney General Mr. Tom Horne have not been more actively pursued by an objective journalistic effort and brought to the public’s attention.

As an Attorney General, I would expect that one’s character be above reproach, and it does appear there are legitimate questions regarding Mr. Horne.

The issues certainly need to be explored for our present Attorney General.

Why has there been no thorough/structured education by the media to educate and keep the public abreast of the issues surrounding Mr. Horne?

IMO it is because this paper caters to a religious right wing community and Mr. Horne is part of the clan. That may be only half true - but true none-the-less.

Mr Horne is nothing more than a political gad-fly and career politician.
How else does one explain how the Supt. Of Public Schools segueys into the AG's office, where he, apparently had more opportunities for mid-day quickies with his paid lover. Since they are both on state payroll, this smells much worse than the obvious.

When Horne(y) became AG and hired his ( alleged ) mistress, she was a dis-barred attorney.

Why would a legit Attorney General hire a dis-barred attorney to work in the Attorney General's Office?

It stinks to high heaven. Then he used his influence to get her un-barred!!!
Didn't know you could do that. I thought being dis-barred was a life-time thing.

Considering the ethical standards and behavior of attorneys, it must take one heck of a lot of bad behavior to get dis-barred. Those attorneys that are ripping off old people didn't get dis-barred. What does it take to get dis-barred?

“What does it take to get dis-barred?”
If we use Andrew Thomas (our previous Maricopa County Attorney) as an example, it takes an effort to ‘dishonor, defile and desecrate the public trust’; As described by the ethics panel.

Horne is a despicable Attorney General; willing to lie, cheat and bargain his way around the law.

Maybe you're reading the wrong paper? The columnists at AZCentral write about it once a week it seems like.

DonMey, I quit posting there when they decided to charge everyone for the online access whether they went online or not.

I dropped my subscription to the Arizona Republic over it.

I have a 93 year old relative who likes to do the crosswords in the Republic and she doesn't even HAVE a computer but has to pay the $10 extra for online access.

I considered their policy so unfair I wasn't willing to continue reading that rag.

    BIG TIME RIP OFF.

If he is guilty he should be removed. I think that both the Trib and the Republic covered the issue with mistress ("elegedly"). What more do we need to know?

According to Ambrose Bierce a lawyer is "...one skilled in circumventing the law." Mr. Horne qualifies with flying colors.
